Ladykiller rocker ROBBIE WILLIAMS has been ruled out of the race to land the role of JAMES BOND when PIERCE BROSNAN hangs up his shoulder holster.

The singer was thought to be keen to win the part of 007 after posing as the secret agent in the video for his No 1 hit MILLENIUM, which featured string music from the theme tune to YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE (1967).

But casting director DEBBIE McWILLIAMS, who is scouting for Brosnan's successor, says, "Robbie Williams, bless him, I don't think is quite what we're looking for."

McWilliams cites current favourite RUSSELL CROWE as her pick for the superspy - although an total unknown would also be a good choice. (TM/WNTSP/NFA)
