Hannibal Follow-Up To Include Flashbacks To Young Lecter
The next instalment in the HANNIBAL LECTER story will be a mixture of prequel and sequel. SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, the (1991) scriptwriter TED TALLY says the story begins with Dr Lecter's capture. But there will be flashbacks to THOMAS HARRIS's novel RED DRAGON.
The book originally formed the basis of the first Hannibal Lecter film, MANHUNTER (1986), which starred BRIAN COX in the lead role.
It is not yet known when production is likely to begin. Anthony Hopkins will play Lecter for a third time. There have also been rumours that JUDE LAW is being considered for the role of a young Lecter. (RP/WNWCAN/KMW)
