Acting legend ROCK HUDSON went to his grave believing he had fathered an illegitimate son, according to his gay lover.

MARC CHRISTIAN who was one of the GIANT (1956) star's last boyfriends when Hudson died of Aids on 2 October 1985 aged 59, claims a secret love child is thought to have been conceived with an actress, who remains unnamed.

American tabloid GLOBE quotes Christian as saying, "He told me once he thought he had a son. "It was with an actress and I don't remember her name. It wasn't really a big-name actress, but they had an affair and she did have a baby."

Hudson, who starred in the 1970s TV detective show McMILLAN AND WIFE and later DYNASTY had one marriage - to PHYLLIS GATES, his agent's secretary.

The three-year union was childless and arranged to cover up the actor's homosexuality. Christian, who is now 48, began an affair with Hudson in 1982 when he was 29.
