Gary Oldman Enraged By His New Film

GARY OLDMAN has clashed with DREAMWORKS over the editing of his latest film CONTENDER, The (2000).

In the original script Oldman plays a morally ambiguous character, but movie-distributors Dreamworks have added "bad villain" music to all his appearances, thereby destroying the complexity of the role.

Oldman, whose company produced the film, is devastated that the project has turned out completely different to what he originally envisaged. The out-spoken actor says, "I think that, somewhere along the line, the director ROD LURIE lost his nerve and that the movie, at the end, cops out." (KMW/TF/KW)
