As Hollywood paid tribute to the year's best at last night's (25MAR01) OSCARS, sci-fi flop Battlefield Earth (2000) was hailed Tinseltown's worst film of 2000.

The JOHN TRAVOLTA movie, based on Scientology founder Lafayette Ronald Hubbard's novel, claimed the bulk of the 21st annual GOLDEN RASPBERRY FOUNDATION awards.

The flop picked up "Razzies" for Worst Movie, Actor, Screen Couple (Travolta and his real-life wife KELLY PRESTON), Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, Director and Screenplay. Golden Raspberry Foundation founder JOHN WILSON says, "Unlike the Oscars, it was actually a cake walk for jurors - Battlefield was truly wretched."
