HANNIBAL has broken the $250 million (£166 million) mark at the world's box office - and a handful of other records in the process.
As well as claiming the third biggest opening weekend in America, the SILENCE OF THE LAMBS sequel also achieved the country's biggest opening weekend for a restricted film.
And now it has notched up a series of new landmarks, including the biggest opening of a restricted film in Britain, Australia, Spain, Germany and Portugal and various other countries, the biggest opening for an American film in Italy, and the biggest opening weekend of the year (01) in Portugal and Sweden.
