Movie star EDWARD BURNS was amazed to hear the man who made a 15- minute porn version of war epic SAVING PRIVATE RYAN has been given the go-ahead to make a big-budget Hollywood film.

THE BROTHERS McMULLEN star joked with his Saving Private Ryan pals on the set that someone would make SAVING RYAN'S PRIVATES and was amused when he heard the short film was being made and had propelled its director to great things. He says, "I don't know who the guy is or what the film he's now making is but I mean, he made a 15-minute film where he recreated D-Day, only the guy gets his unit blown off and then they send a team to find this guy's privates.
