CBS Sues Survivor Contestant

CBS has counter-sued former Survivor contestant Stacey Stillman, demanding $5 million in damages for breach of contract, extortion, defamation and disparagement.

As reported by the entertainment and media news site Inside, CBS is claiming, among other things, that Stillman breached a confidentiality agreement when she began discussing the inner workings of the show as part of her claim that the show was rigged. (Stillman claims that Burnett induced two other Survivor contestants to vote her off the show.) In a statement to Inside, Stillman said: "I would never have come forward and invested this time and energy if I did not know for a fact that Mark Burnett manipulated my exit from the show. Knowing what I do, I had to come forward and (say) that Mark Burnett's $5 million lawsuit is a blatant attempt to scare me away. I still stand by my claims and the witnesses are ready to testify."
