Viacom apparently has no plans to shut down its Star Trek franchise. According to published reports, a Viacom spokesman has told analysts that although the current series, Star Trek: Voyager, airing on UPN, is due to end this season, a new series is being developed to debut in the fall. It would be the fifth Star Trek television series to be created on TV since 1966.
