Celebrity Tax Probe Launched In UK

British tax officials have launched a probe to determine whether celebrities who receive payments from tabloids and magazines for interviews or who make exclusive deals for coverage of their weddings are duly reporting the revenue as income, the Sunday People magazine reported.

According to the tabloid, a team of six Inland Revenue inspectors particularly want to determine whether "payments in kind," in which the magazines pay for wedding arrangements or provide luxury holidays are being reported as income. The magazine said that some agents of celebrities have already been informed of the investigation.
