Dr. Laura Schlessinger touched off speculation Thursday that her television talk show was being canceled or that she is bowing out.
During her syndicated radio program, which airs live between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. ET, she urged listeners to tune in today (Friday) when she would make "a very sad announcement." Her TV program had been dropped outright in several markets or moved to the wee hours of the morning in others. Even before it went on the air, it had been the focus of attack by gay organizations who were outraged by Schlessinger's comments about homosexuality on her radio show. (She has never mentioned the subject on TV.)
