Although the possibility of being sent back to prison still hangs over his head, Robert Downey Jr. has signed for eight more episodes of Fox's Ally McBeal, the network announced Wednesday. Downey's latest brush with the law -- he was arrested on drug charges in Palm Springs last November and faces the possibility of spending 56 months in jail -- had already resulted in his being yanked from a starring role in Sony's feature film America's Sweethearts and from a stage performance of Hamlet that was to have been directed by Mel Gibson.
