The young star who's landed the role of HARRY POTTER in the forthcoming film has confessed to not reading all the books.
DANIEL RADCLIFFE, 11, of Fulham, London feels a bit embarrassed about landing the part, as his school pals know the character better than him.
Timid Daniel, speaking to over 100 reporters and 60 TV cameras at a packed press conference in London yesterday (23AUG00), begins filming the $127 million (£85 million) movie in the autumn.
He said, "It's very strange because a lot of the other boys in my class know that I've only read the one or two books - but these boys are total fanatics, they've read all four and stuff.
"I think they're a bit angry, because I've read the least Harry Potter in my class."
Daniel, who will star opposite DAME MAGGIE SMITH in the film, also likened himself a little to fictitious Harry.
He added, "I'm a tiny, tiny bit like Harry because I'd like to have an owl!"
