LEAVING LAS VEGAS director MIKE FIGGIS is repeating the split- screen gimmick he tried on the acclaimed TIMECODE last year (00). Hailed as a groundbreaking film-making experiment, Timecode told its inter-related stories by splitting the screen into four, with the actors improvising their dialogue in one long take.
Figgis's latest project, a black comedy called THE HOTEL, has just started shooting in Venice, Italy, and will use a similar technique. The movie features FRIENDS star DAVID SCHWIMMER and DOGMA actress SALMA HAYEK. (MCM/WNWCPO)
