EWAN McGREGOR is poised to star in the latest action movie from GLADIATOR director RIDLEY SCOTT.
The 29-year-old Scottish actor is in negotiations to join the ensemble cast of BLACK HAWK DOWN, which is set to begin production at the end of February (01).
Based on the true story of the fierce battle which occurred in Somalia in 1993 between American troops and local guerilla soldiers, the film is set to be a bloody recreation of the longest battle involving American soldiers since the Vietnam War.
McGregor is in talks to play a company clerk and, if he signs up, he'll join the likes of JOSH HARTNETT (PEARL HARBOUR), TOM SIZEMORE (SAVING PRIVATE RYAN) and ERIC BANA (CHOPPER) on the front line. (RGS/WNWCPO/PDD)
