Filming Delayed After Crowe Hurts Shoulder

Movie hunk RUSSELL CROWE's new film has been put on hold after he hurt his shoulder while training for his role as a circus freak.

FLORA PLUM, directed by JODIE FOSTER, was due to begin filming in Florida later this month (SEPT00).

However, Crowe hurt his shoulder while training for the part in
Austin, Texas, where he's on tour with his band 30 ODD FOOT OF GRUNTS.

It's not known how he hurt his shoulder, but doctors have advised him he'll have to undergo an operation at the end of the month.

Flora Plum is a love story set during the Depression about a circus freak, played by Crowe, who takes pity on a penniless waif, CLAIRE DANES, with whom he falls in love while helping her achieve fame. Sources say filming has been pushed back because of Crowe's accident and no new date has been decided on. (JM/WNWCAN/RC)
