Indian Officials Condemns "Cultural Invasion" By Foreign TV


An Indian official has vowed to "stop cultural invasion at all costs" by foreign television companies and to maintain television as a family medium. Today's (Wednesday) Times of India reported that Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sushma Swaraj warned that broadcasters who do not adhere to the cultural values and traditions of the country will be fined and have their licenses canceled. The minister added: "Youth are challenging their parents after watching programs like The Bold and the Beautiful while children are indulging in brawls and fights after seeing WWF."
