In a bizarre new twist in their relationship, LIZ HURLEY has asked ex-lover HUGH GRANT to give her a baby.

According to American tabloid THE GLOBE, the actress is desperate to have Hugh's baby and is trying to convince him by insisting he doesn't have to start romancing her again to do it.

Pals claim it was baby talk that split the couple up in the first place, but Liz still wants her ex-lover's child. One friend says, "She wanted a child more than him and they kept putting off the pregnancy issue."

The couple ended their 13-year romance earlier this year (00) and both have been romancing other people, but Liz has reportedly already grown tired of life without Hugh.

The friend adds, "She says she's always thinking of Hugh. When they're in LA and London, they meet frequently for business and often end up dining together into the wee hours. "She has asked Hugh to consider a trial reconciliation. He's thinking about it. They're two people who still love each other - but they're frightened of getting back together."
