Actress CATHERINE ZETA JONES is desperate to star in the next 007 movie - as JANE BOND.
The Welsh beauty, 31, has told Bond bosses she's keen to step into PIERCE BROSNAN's shoes - but only if she can turn the secret agent into a woman. She'll have to fight off TOMB RAIDER star ANGELINA JOLIE, who has also expressed an interest in the coveted role. The feisty star says, "There is no way I'm I'm going to play Pierce Brosnan's sidekick, thank you. I'll play Bond. Jane Bond."
But movie insiders think she may be aiming too high. A source says, "She's one of the biggest actresses in Hollywood at the moment and 007 producers believe she would be the perfect choice to be Bond's right-hand woman. "The face of Bond changes all the time and no-one bats an eyelid - but there would be quite a stir if he changed sex."
