Date: 14th December 2000
The trial of rapper SEAN "PUFFY" COMBS has undergone a slight change of cast - a lawyer has left the bench due to "conflicting interests".
Puff's co-defendant, bodyguard ANTHONY 'WOLF' JONES, has switched counsel from EDWARD HAYES to MICHAEL BACHNER.
Top litigator Hayes withdrew from the case because, "I felt I had a conflict."
For a few hours on the night that Combs and Jones were arrested after a December 1999 shooting at a New York nightclub, Hayes represented the driver of Puffy's car, WARDELL FENDERSON, who is expected to be an important prosecution witness.
Combs, Jones and JAMAL SHYNE BARROW are charged with gun possession, and Barrow with attempted murder. (NFA/WNWDN/CPT)
