LATEST: ANNE HECHE insists she hardly knows ROBERT DOWNEY JR - despite claims she supplies him with drugs.

The SIX DAYS, SEVEN NIGHTS actress has been starring alongside the troubled actor in TV show ALLY McBEAL, with both of them making guest appearances in the current series. But speaking just three days before Downey's Palm Springs, California arrest last month (25NOV00), she told reporters she had no dealings with the hunky star. She says, "We have literally passed each other in the corridor, but I hear he's doing a fantastic job."

Heche is now contemplating suing American tabloid the NATIONAL ENQUIRER over accusations she provided drugs to Downey Jr prior to his arrest. (MB/WNV/KW)
