Fox Ties For First On Sunday

Fox scored a rare win Sunday night -- well, actually a tie for the top spot with CBS -- as the audience for NFL Football (a 14.8 rating and a 24 share for the "overrun" period) stuck around to produce strong numbers for King of the Hill (8.1/13), The Simpsons (9.6/14), Malcolm in the Middle (10.1/15) and The X-Files (9.5/13).

CBS stalwart 60 Minutes again boosted the overall average for the net as it scored a 13.2/22 in the 7:00 p.m. hour. Touched By an Angel followed with a 10.1/14. An original movie, The Runaway averaged a 9.8/14 between 9:00 and 11:00 p.m. ABC finished in third place with an average 9.6/14, but its best numbers for the night were not produced by Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, which earned a 12.1/17 in the 9:00 p.m. hour. Rather, ABC's top spot was occupied by The Practice, which pulled a 13.1/20 at 10:00 p.m. NBC finished last among the Big 4, averaging only a 7.1/10 for the night.
