Marvel's X-Men Reboot Casts Samara Weaving as Emma Frost.

Australian actress Samara Weaving is set to star as Emma Frost in Marvel’s "X-Men" reboot.

Famed for her role in Ready or Not, Samara is set to take on the role of the powerful telepath, a character whose journey in Marvel Comics has seen her evolve from one of the X-Men's most formidable villains into one of their most complex heroes.

Side-by-side images comparing Weaving to Emma Frost’s classic comic book look have been circulating widely since the news broke, with fans pointing to the resemblance as proof the casting is exactly right.

The announcements come as Marvel looks to rebuild momentum after Captain America: Brave New World and The Fantastic Four: First Steps underperformed at the box office, while Spider-Man: Brand New Day is expected to reverse the trend after opening to record-breaking figures. Sony distributes the Spider-Man films.

Weaving, known for her scene-stealing and fierce performances in hits like Ready or Not and Babylon, is expected to introduce a comic-accurate, ruthlessly elegant version of Frost to the MCU. However, it is important to know that Marvel has not commented on nor confirmed this piece of news from their end.

January Jones previously played the role in X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past. While the character was going to make appearances in other X-Men movies, that never happened, but it appears she’s going to be a key part of the next installment.
