Noah Centineo in Talks to Join Sydney Sweeney in Live-Action 'Gundam' Movie.

Noah Centineo is reportedly in talks to join Sydney Sweeney in the upcoming new Gundam movie.

The actor, who is already shooting Street Fighter for Legendary, is in talks to reteam with the company for its live-action, big budget adaptation of Gundam, the anime centered on giant robots known as mechas.

With no deal currently closed, however, one of the bigger factors as to whether Centineo closes his deal to star in the live-action Gundam movie is his production schedule. Right after Street Fighter, the star is leading the Rambo prequel movie, which director Jalmari Helander recently confirmed will begin shooting on January 26. If Legendary and Sweeney's schedule are looking to begin production around the same time, Centineo may have to bow out

Gundam is one of Japan’s most durable sci-fi franchises, launched in 1979 and built around sprawling space conflicts fought with “mobile suits,” giant piloted machines. Its mix of military drama and character-driven stakes has produced dozens of series and films, plus a long-running model-kit business that keeps the brand culturally present across generations. Attempts to translate that scale into live action have been rare, so the new movie carries high expectations from longtime fans who want faithful design work and grounded war storytelling, while newcomers will likely judge it on spectacle and character clarity..
