Christian Bale is in early talks to star in Michael Mann's Heat 2.

The 51-year-old actor is in contention to star in director Michael Mann’s upcoming sequel to his 1995 heist thriller alongside Leonardo DiCaprio.

If Christian does sign on to star in Heat 2, this would be the second collaboration for him and Michael Mann, who previously worked together on the 2009 crime drama Public Enemies.

As the title would suggest, Heat 2 is the sequel to the 1995 cops-and-robbers epic starring Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Val Kilmer, and Ashley Judd.

Amazon MGM Studios and United Artists are expected to start production on the film in 2026. Plot details for "Heat 2" haven't been revealed, though Mann adapted the screenplay from the 2022 New York Times-bestselling novel that he co-wrote with Meg Gardiner.
