A shareholders meeting of Montreal-based Seagram Co. is expected to approve the acquisition of the wine, spirits and entertainment company by France's Vivendi Tuesday, the Canadian Press reported Sunday.

On the same day, Vivendi shareholders are also expected to meet to ratify the deal, which was approved last week by French regulators. A condition of that approval was that the new Vivendi Universal will maintain set levels of investment in French and European film production, the wire service observed.
