THE GRINCH WHO STOLE CHRISTMAS has topped the American Box Office for a third week.

JIM CARREY stars as the green Christmas-hater in the hit movie, which made $27.1 million (£18.8 million) over the weekend (01- 03DEC00). BRUCE WILLIS' UNBREAKABLE came in second and Disney's 102 DALMATIANS was third with $8.2 million (£5.7 million).

The Grinch will face tough competition to remain at the top of the chart next weekend (08-10DEC00), with the release of PROOF OF LIFE, which stars RUSSELL CROWE and MEG RYAN.
