Director Neil Jordan (The Crying Game, Interview with the Vampire, Michael Collins, End of the Affair) has indicated that he has set filmmaking aside to try his hand at writing a novel. In an interview with the online site ShowBiz Ireland, Jordan said, "Currently I'm writing a novel. I have no plans at the moment for my next film." The Web site indicated that the novel was now half finished. It did not indicate what it was about or whether Jordan has any plans to adapt it into a screenplay. Nevertheless it did quote the director as saying, "I have a number of movie ideas I am looking at making."
