Kathryn Newton is joining the cast of Radio Silence’s follow-up to its near $58 million global-grossing 2019 cult Searchlight hit Ready or Not.

Newton joins returning star Samara Weaving in the movie directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. The original Ready or Not scribes are also back: Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy.

Plot details are under wraps at the moment, so we have no idea who Newton will play or how the action will be connected to the events of the first film.

Written by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, the original 2019 dark comedy horror hit starred Samara Weaving a young newlywed who learns of her new family’s wedding night ritual: pulling a card from a puzzle card game.

If someone draws the Hide and Seek card, as she does, then a murderous game is played, all in order to appease an ancient family deal with the devil. Adam Brody, Henry Czerny and Andie MacDowell co-starred.

Besides Abigail and Lisa Frankenstein, Newton has starred in several other horror projects like the Netflix series The Society, Supernatural, and Freaky.
