David Arquette will reprise his role as Dewey Riley in Scream 7, despite the character's death in Scream (2022). He joins Matthew Lillard and Scott Foley, both of whom also played characters previously killed in the franchise.

The trio played characters who died in the franchise and are returning in a surprise way. Details regarding how Arquette's charactor comes back and the film's plot are currently under wraps. The seventh installment will release in theaters on February 27, 2026.

Neve Campbell is back next year as Sidney Prescott alongside Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers.

The deputy was married to Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) with Cox reprising her role in the new film. Details regarding how Arquette’s character comes back and the story are currently under wraps.

Franchise newcomers include Celeste O’Connor, Mckenna Grace, Sam Rechner, Asa Germann, Anna Camp, Isabel May, Mark Consuelos, Ethan Embry and Joel McHale as Sidney's husband, Mark Evans.

Created by Kevin Williamson alongside the late Wes Craven, "Scream" became one of the defining horror series of the 1990s for its satire of slasher film tropes.
