CHARLIZE THERON has an unusual obsession with TV medical documentaries.

The South African actress loves nothing better than to relax after a long day on a movie set by watching a live operation on her favourite TV stations THE LEARNING CHANNEL and DISCOVERY.

She says, "They're awesome. A few nights back there was this tube tying thing on a woman and it was so amazing. "I love watching them with other people and watching their reactions. I have a friend called CINDY who will throw up if I make her watch these things for too long. It's interesting. I don't get freaked out at all."

Theron feels her tough nature and the ability to put up with all manner of gory things stems from her upbringing in South Africa. She adds, "I'm not scared of bugs and stuff. I mean I'd eat a rat if I was hungry." (KL/WNV/RGS)
