Matt Berry Joins Jason Momoa's 'Minecraft' Movie.

Matt Berry is in negotiations to star opposite Jason Momoa in the Minecraft movie that Jared Hess will direct for Warner Bros.

Momoa will produce the film through his production company On The Roam alongside Vertigo, Microsoft, Mojang and co-financier Legendary.

Details on the film's plot and Berry's role remain secret. Developed by Swedish game designer Markus "Notch" Persson and released in 2011, "Minecraft" is an open-ended sandbox game in which players can mine resources and craft items, using them to create new structures and fight off hostile creatures.

More than a decade later, "Minecraft" remains one of the most popular and lucrative video games on the market, with fans creating community servers and conventions to share their creations.

Berry is best known for his BAFTA and Critics’ Choice Award-nominated turn as vampire Laszlo Cravensworth in FX’s hit comedy What We Do in the Shadows, which returns for its fifth season on July 13th. Other notable credits for the British actor, comedian and writer include BBC’s Great Expectations, as well as Channel 4’s Year of the Rabbit and Toast of London, the latter of which he also co-created.
