Eric Dane joins the cast of Bad Boys 4.

"Euphoria" and "Grey's Anatomy" alum Eric Dane will play a villain in the upcoming fourth "Bad Boys" film at Sony Pictures.

"Bad Boys: For Life" helmers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are returning to direct from a script by Chris Bremner.

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are reprising their roles as detectives Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowrey respectively while Vanessa Hudgens, Paola Nunez and Alexander Ludwig are all returning after featuring in the 2020 film 'Bad Boys for Life'.

The plot is being kept under wraps but Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will be behind the camera again and are directing from a script by Chris Bremner.

Martin revealed last year that he was confident that another movie would materialise after the success of 'Bad Boys for Life' – which became the franchise's highest-grossing film when it was released.

Pre-production is underway, with filming to begin shortly in Atlanta. The project has been fast-tracked following its announcement in February and marks a return to studio blockbusters for Smith following his 2022 Oscars slap.

The third "Bad Boys" film pulled in $426.5 million at the worldwide box office from a $90 million budget – the best of the franchise to date and the fourth highest-grossing film of 2020.

Dane is best known for his role in ABC’s critically-acclaimed, Golden Globe-award-winning and Emmy-nominated series Grey’s Anatomy. He recently wrapped production on Luckychap’s Borderline and the motorcycle racing film, One Fast Move opposite KJ Apa. Next, Dane can be seen in Tony Tost’s directorial debut National Anthem from Bron Studios, co-starring with Sydney Sweeney, Halsey, and Paul Walter Hauser, which premiered out of SXSW.
