Peakviewing Transatlantic, the key new player in internaional feature film distribution and production brings Merlin The Return to the UK. This new and exciting Sword and Sorcery feature is aimed at children and opens at cinemas across the UK on December 22nd 2000.

Written and directed by Paul Matthews (The Fairy King of Ar, The Little Unicorn), Merlin The Return begins with Merlin, played by Rik Mayall (Drop Dead Fred, Guest House Paradiso), banishing Mordred, Craig Sheffer (A River Runs Through It, Some Kind of Wonderful) to the netherworld using the immense power of Stonehenge. Merlin then consigns King Arthur, Patrick Bergin (Sleeping With The Enemy, Patriot Games) and his knights to a long, dark sleep, promising future generations that Arthur would be on-hand to save the world should Mordred ever escape to threaten it again.

Fifteen hundred years later, Merlin's spell is the subject of legend… and is weakening. Scientist, Joan Maxwell, Tia Carrere (True Lies, Wayne's World) is experimenting with the magnetic flows of the Earth, the precise source of Merlin's magic. She has made contact with Mordred and in return for his promise of power, is using her knowledge to free the sorcerer from his prison.

The only thing standing between Mordred and success are the ragged loyalties of Lancelot played by Adrian Paul (Highlander) and Guinevere (Julie Hartley) whom Merlin banished along with him.
