Finale Draws More Than 40 Million Viewers


According to Nielsen overnights, the two-hour finale, which aired between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. averaged a 30.8 rating and a 45 share (38.2 million viewers), peaking in the final half hour to a 34.1/48 (42.3 million).

A one-hour reunion show that followed at 10:00 p.m., hosted by Bryant Gumbel, also pulled an enormous audience, averaging a 24.5/37. Overall, CBS averaged a record 27.8/42 during the primetime period. s s
