Hollywood Set To Turn Teacher's Novel Into A Movie

Filmmaker Roland Joffe has contacted a British school teacher about turning one of the teacher's mystery novels, The Mask of Ra, into a movie, the London Daily Express reported today (Monday). The newspaper noted that while such a deal could net the teacher, Dr. Paul Doherty of Trinity Catholic High School in Woodford Green, hundreds of thousands of pounds, Doherty is not thinking about giving up his day job. Doherty said that he loves the kids at his school too much to leave, "but it would be wonderful to see what I have written appear on the big screen." Doherty made public a letter that he received from Joffe which said that he was "fascinated by the world you conjured up in your book." He said that Joffe is now looking for financial backing for the project.
