Saying that it wants to help overturn the film industry's skepticism of the ability of lesbian-themed films to perform successfully at the box office, Los Angeles-based Picture This! Home Video Wednesday announced that it will release a collection of lesbian short films that have been well received at numerous film festivals.

In a statement, company exec Orly Ravid said that the collection, Short Shorts, set for release on Sept. 26, is intended to build "a foundation of support ... for lesbian filmmakers and their audiences."
