Luke Perry will star in a movie-within-a-movie comedy, set in an Irish town in 1952 during the filming of the John Ford classic, The Quiet Man, the Irish Star reported Wednesday.

In the film, Connemara Dave, Perry will reportedly play an assistant director who catches the eye of a local Irish girl, who falls madly in love with him.

The plot of Connemara Dave will reportedly parallel the plot of The Quiet Man, which, in turn, paralleled the plot of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew.
