Daniel Kaluuya Cast in 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' as Spider-Punk.


Oscar winner Daniel Kaluuya is entering the Spider-Verse in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, voicing the comic book character Spider-Punk.

The "Nope" star will join Sony Pictures' animation film, sequel to the 2018 "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse", as the voice of Hobart "Hobie" Brown, a.k.a. Spider-Punk.

The actor joins an ensemble which will also include Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Oscar Isaac, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Greta Lee, Issa Rae, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, Shea Whigham, and Jason Schwartzman, as previously announced.

The second film will follow Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), who has taken on the mantle of Brooklyn's friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, as he reunites with Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) to navigate the complicated web of the multiverse in the shadow of a new villain and team of Spider-People.

Spider-Punk is a recent iteration of the wall-crawler. Created by Dan Slott and Olivier Copel, Spider-Punk made his comic book debut in The Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 3 #10 in January 2015. 2018’s Into the Spider-Verse was a massive triumph for Sony Pictures; who took home a Best Animated Feature Film at the 2019 Academy Awards. The film grossed $375 million worldwide
