ROBBIE WILLIAMS is being lined up as the new JAMES BOND, according to insiders at the makers of the hit spy film series.
The MILLENNIUM singer - who was reported to be signed up to sing the theme tune to the next instalment of the suave British intelligence officer's exploits - is touted as an ideal candidate to take over from current Bond incumbent PIERCE BROSNAN, and is believed to be interested in the acting role.
An insider at film company EON says, "We're aware of Robbie's interest and his name is being considered as a candidate. "It's early days but I can honestly say he's a bright prospect -and not just for the theme song. "In some ways it would be difficult having someone as well known as Robbie in the role - but on the other hand it's not as far fetched as it seems. He'd guarantee huge publicity for the movie and generate interest worldwide." (CPT/WNTST/PDD)
