Digital Cameras Won't Speed Up Episode II

Producer Rick McCallum says that, notwithstanding the use of digital cameras, it will take three years, from beginning to end, to make Star Wars: Episode II. In a statement for "Homing Beacon," the official newsletter of, McCallum said Thursday, "There is a misconception that the use of digital cameras will allow the film to be completed quite early, but Episode II is so complex that it will require the full three-year time frame common to all Star Wars films. ... It seems like a long way away, but every day is critical for us."
