British TV comedian Eddie Izzard has been signed to play Charlie Chaplin in Peter Bogdanovich's The Cat's Meow, due to begin shooting later this month in Germany and Greece, the British online entertainment site Ananova said Monday. He will reportedly costar in the Lions Gate film with Kirsten Dunst. The $37-million movie will mark Izzard's first role in a major Hollywood production. An unnamed associate told Ananova: "Eddie isn't leaving the world of comedy altogether but he loves working in the movie business. He sees this as his biggest part yet. He is completely over the moon."
