Exhibitor Cinemark Backs Off From Stricter Policy On Trailers

After astonishing studios by announcing that it would refuse to play trailers for R-rated films before films rated PG-13 (as well as PG and G), Cinemark on Tuesday indicated that it had changed its mind and would, like other exhibitors, examine trailers on a case-by-case basis. As reported by the online Inside magazine, Cinemark bowed to pressure by distributors, one of whom told Inside, "They were being ridiculous and they came to their senses."
