Meet The Parents Is The Real Bedazzler


Universal's Meet the Parents solidified its position as the biggest October hit ever as it took in another $16 million in its third week to lead the box office competition. Fox's Bedazzled opened in second place with $13.1 million, but moviegoers were less bedazzled by other new films, all of which earned less than $10 million. Still, the box office was up over the comparable week a year ago, with the top 12 films earning $70.1 million, up 11 percent over 1999. The top ten films over the weekend, according to final figures compiled by Exhibitor Relations (figures in parentheses represent total gross to date): 1.
