LATEST: LIZA MINNELLI has made a 24-hour miracle recovery to fight off viral encephalitis for the second time in as many weeks.

The CABARET star was readmitted to hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, last week (13OCT00) just a week after checking out.

Friends spent the weekend preparing for bad news but Minnelli's neurologist MAURICE HANSON is confident she's now fine. He says, "Miss Minnelli is now recovering well and we expect to release her in a few days. Miss Minnelli was treated for this ailment two weeks ago and was released but she became dehydrated at home and had to return to hospital." (KL/WNV/CPT)
