Olivia Wilde, Spike Jonze And Tobey Maguire Join Damien Chazelle's Babylon.

Olivia Wilde, Tobey Maguire and Oscar-winning filmmaker Spike Jonze are set to join Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie in Damien Chazelle's Babylon.

Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt and Diego Calva, along with Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li and Katherine Waterston lead the roll call for the production, slated to go before cameras next week in L.A.

With the Academy Award-winning director putting his signature aesthetic style on the film, Babylon is likely to be another awards season contender. Little details are known regarding the character makeup of the massive cast

The 1920s-set drama, which is set to be Chazelle's follow-up to 2018's underrated space age drama First Man, is an "ode to the golden age of Hollywood" which will feature both real and fictional characters navigating the transition from silent films to "talkies".

Olivia Wilde is currently overseeing the pre-production process for her next film, Don't Worry Darling. Starring Wilde, Gemma Chan, Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, Kiki Layne, and Chris Pine, the film is described as an intense 1950s crime drama. It revolves around a housewife living with her husband in a utopian experimental community who begins to worry that his glamorous company may be hiding disturbing secrets.

Tobey Maguire is doing double duty on the feature as he is also an exec producer alongside Helen Estabrook and Adam Siegel.

"Babylon" is expected to arrive in theaters just in time for Christmas 2022.
