Ridley Scott is eyeing Killing Eve's Jodie Comer to play Napoleon Bonaparte's beloved Josephine in Kitbag. The actress had recently led the director's The Last Duel movie.
Scott was so impressed with her work on Duel that she quickly became his top choice for Josephine in Kitbag.
Directed by Ridley Scott, Kitbag is described as an original and personal look at Napoleon’s origins and his swift, ruthless climb to emperor, viewed through the prism of his addictive and often volatile relationship with his wife and one true love, Josephine. The film will capture Napoleon’s famous battles, his relentless ambition, and "astounding strategic mind as an extraordinary military leader and war visionary."
The Golden Globe-nominated and Emmy-winning Killing Eve star recently worked on Scott’s drama The Last Duel, expected to release on October 15, 2021. Directed by the Oscar-nominated filmmaker and written by Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Nicole Holofcener, The Last Duel is based on the book by Eric Jager and also stars Affleck, Damon, and Adam Driver.
