Recent Julliard graduate and complete newcomer Jayme Lawson has scored her first major film role, being set for an undisclosed key role in director Matt Reeves' "The Batman".
Lawson joins a cast that includes Robert Pattinson as Batman, Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon and Paul Dano as The Riddler, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth.
Robert Pattinson is set to star as the Dark Knight, with Reeves having taken over the directing gig after Ben Affleck stepped away from the project. Affleck was also originally expected to play Batman but then said he would be hanging up the cape for good.
Reeves has since described the film as a "defining" and "very personal" story about the Dark Knight, rather than an origin story in the vein of Frank Miller’s beloved "Year One" series.
