Yahya Abdul-Mateen II Will Take on a Lead Role in Matrix 4.

"Aquaman" and "Baywatch" actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has scored one of the lead roles in the upcoming fourth film in "The Matrix" franchise.

The actor will join the previously cast Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss, who will be reprising their roles in the film. Wachowski is also writing the script for the film with Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell.

It is believed that Lana Wachowski was meeting with actors over the past few weeks for a "secret role" in The Matrix 4. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has been chosen out of the actors Wachowski met with. Nothing about his character has been revealed at this time, which makes sense, since we know next to nothing about the sequel. However, Abdul-Mateen II will have a lead role alongside Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Ann Moss.

Information up until now has been scarce on the ground on The Matrix 4, but we know that Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss are reprising their roles and that production is expected to begin in early 2020.
