Matt Smith Is Joining The Cast Of 'Star Wars: Episode IX'.

Former Doctor Who and The Crown star Matt Smith is said to have landed a key role in Star Wars: Episode IX.

Speculation is rife that Matt Smith has clinched the part of Snoke’s other apprentice, while there are those who believe he’s a shoo-in for the Knights of Ren. Neither Lucasfilm nor J.J. Abrams have revealed anything official.

The film is already shooting in the UK for a December 2019 release date. The cast already includes the likes of Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, Keri Russell, Richard E. Grant, Dominic Monaghan, Naomi Ackie and the late Carrie Fisher, who will appear using unseen footage.

The film is the latest installment in the saga and follows on from events seen in Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi which was released last year.
